Ethics Issues for Restaurants During (And After) a Pandemic

Speakers: Kathleen A. Barrett, Member of the Firm, Epstein Becker Green P.C., Francesco A. DeLuca, Associate, Epstein Becker Green P.C.

************

For more than a year, restaurant employers have been duly tested by ethical challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  However, as the world progresses and the impacts of pandemic, and employers’ responses to it, evolve, the ethics challenges employers will face are far from over and, in fact, they may intensify.  Leaders, including in-house legal teams, HR teams, and supervisors will face difficult ethical dilemmas surrounding conflicts, misconduct, competence, and wellness that have emerged as restaurant business models continue to transition.  By connecting ethical principles to corporate goals, restaurant employers will be prepared to navigate these ethical issues, while strengthening relationships with employees.  The speakers will discuss these evolving pandemic and post-pandemic ethical dilemmas and provide a framework for restaurant employers and their counsel to use to issue spot and approach these difficult questions.
